What does a Personal Training session involve?
At first, we start with an initial consultation to discuss your training background, past injuries, goals and expectations.
Following this conversation, we will have a movement screening to assess your ability to perform basic fundamentals such as hinge, squat, lunge, push, pull, core stability.
Going forwards we will build a suitable plan for you for the next few months based on your current needs.
How does your Personal Training work?
Your training programme will highly depend on your level of fitness.
Pete works with his clients using different variations of reps, sets and tempos to help them build strong positions before we increase overall volume and intensity.
Whether you want to learn how to lift weights properly or how to do a new exercise, a trainer is a wealth of knowledge. For example, you might think you need to focus on cardio to lose weight but building strong core stability is equally important for your goals.
Once we have built a strong foundation (which takes approximately 3-6 months) and you’re able to perform movements without any supervision you will be offered a remote training option if you are feeling comfortable and motivated enough to train on your own.
“The goal is to educate my clients and make sure they can also train independently if they need to”.
GET FIT BY PETE is based in London Fitzrovia but can travel to a location of your choice in Hampstead, Knightsbridge, Kensington and Chelsea.
How do you help your clients reach their goals?
We are not born knowing how to train effectively or how to design a program that contains strength components, aerobic capacity and mobility components which specific exercises to do for each of those, and how to fit it into a busy schedule.
The workouts you will do are based on the F.I.T.T principles so we choose the Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type of workout appropriate for you and we will manipulate these elements over time using:
- Exercises from gymnastics, weightlifting, functional training and bodybuilding, to help strengthen your muscles and joints.
We will evaluate your current training progression by looking at what you’re already doing. Then suggest new ways to change or tweak your workouts to make them more efficient and effective and fun.
People often don’t see results because they’re not working as hard as they could. It’s easy to slack off when you’re by yourself, but having someone to challenge you (and cheer you on) can make a difference.
